License

What you can and cannot do with Unlumen UI components.

The short version

You can use and modify Unlumen UI components in personal projects, commercial products, and paid client work. You can make money from the projects you build with them.

You cannot sell, publish, share, or redistribute the components themselves — individually, in a collection, or through another component registry. This applies to both the original components and modified versions.

Free Components

Free components can be used in any number of personal, commercial, or client projects. No attribution is required.

Pro Components

Pro components require a valid Unlumen UI Pro license. A licensed user can use them in any number of personal, commercial, or client projects.

Sign in with the same email used for your Polar purchase to unlock Pro components on the website. Your Polar license key remains available from your account for shadcn CLI installs.

What you can do

  • Use the components in websites, applications, SaaS products, and other personal or commercial projects
  • Use the components in projects you build and sell to clients
  • Charge for your work and generate revenue from projects that include the components
  • Modify, adapt, combine, and build on top of the components to fit your project
  • Deliver a completed project to a client, including the source code required to run and maintain that project

What you cannot do

  • Sell, license, publish, share, or redistribute a component as a standalone product
  • Create or sell a component registry, component library, UI kit, or component pack containing Unlumen UI components
  • Redistribute modified versions when their primary value is still the component itself
  • Extract components from a project and provide them for reuse outside that project
  • Share Pro component source code, your account access, or your license key with unlicensed users
  • Claim that you created, authored, or own the original Unlumen UI components

These restrictions apply whether the components are free or Pro and whether they are unchanged or modified.

Client work

You may sell and deliver a website, application, or other finished project containing Unlumen UI components. The client may use the components as part of that delivered project, but neither you nor the client may extract, resell, publish, or redistribute them as standalone components or as part of another registry or component library.

Ownership and attribution

You own the original work you create around the components. Unlumen UI and its original components remain the intellectual property of their creator.

Attribution is not required in your finished projects. However, you may not claim that you created or own the original components.
